Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 29, 2026

Compass Claims Recovery Group ("we", "us") helps former property owners recover surplus funds held by county clerks following tax deed and foreclosure sales. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what we do not do with it.

Information we collect

We collect information you give us directly โ€” your name, mailing address, telephone number and email address โ€” when you contact us, complete a form on this site, or engage our services. In the course of researching a claim we also review public records, including county property records, recorded instruments and court filings.

How we use it

We use your information solely to identify and pursue the claim you have asked us to pursue, to communicate with you about it, and to prepare and submit the documents a county requires. We may share information with a county clerk, court, notary or attorney where doing so is necessary to process your claim.

We do not sell, trade, rent or otherwise transfer your personally identifiable information to outside parties. Telephone numbers and consent to receive text messages are collected solely to communicate with you about your claim and are never shared with third parties or affiliates for promotional or marketing purposes.

Text messages

If you provide your telephone number and agree to receive text messages, we may send you messages about the progress of your claim. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP, or reply HELP for assistance. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of using our services. Mobile opt-in information and consent are not shared with any third party or affiliate for marketing purposes.

Retention and security

We retain claim records for as long as necessary to complete the claim and to meet our legal and tax obligations. Records are held on systems we control, with access limited to people who need it to do the work.

Your choices

You may ask us at any time to tell you what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it where we are not required to keep it. You may withdraw consent to text messages at any time without affecting our work on your claim.

An important note about your claim

You may file a claim for surplus funds yourself, directly with the county, at no cost. You are not required to use our services or those of any other company, and you are not required to assign your interest to anyone. We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice.
